For the second time I was fortunate to receive a two-week artist residence at the Cill Rialaig Project in County Kerry, Ireland. Staying at and working in a pre-famine cottage perched on a cliff along the Atlantic Ocean, in the middle of rolling green pastures full of sheep, is hard to describe. It's so much about a sense of space and place. It's a time to slow down, disconnect from technology and reconnect with the simple tranquility nature provides. I was first there in 2015, creating drawings that looked to the environment to deconstruct form. When I was invited to return in May 2019, it felt a little like returning home.
